Hva er en IPv6-adresse?
Alle har sannsynligvis hørt om en IP-adresse. Svært få mennesker vet hva en IPv6-adresse er. Vi vil forklare hva dette handler om og hva den nye standarden er nødvendig for.
IPv6 og IPv4-adresse: hva er forskjellen?
IP-adresser kreves for å få tilgang til Internett. Følgelig tildeles hver enhet en så snart den oppretter en forbindelse til Internett.
- I henhold til IPv4-standarden består de vanlige IP-adressene av opptil 12 sifre - for eksempel 2.280.197.209. Den nye IPv6-standarden består av opptil 32 tegn.
- Siden bare rundt 4, 3 milliarder kombinasjoner er mulig med IPv4 og antallet Internett-brukere øker, var det behov for en ny standard. Rundt 340 sextillion kombinasjoner er mulig med IPv6.
- Fra 2012 ble det nye systemet også introdusert for tyske Internett-brukere. Innen 2015 skal IPv4 erstattes fullstendig av IPv6 i Tyskland. Dette gjelder både DSL-tilkoblinger og mobilnettet.
- Det er ingen endringer for den vanlige brukeren. Bare veldig gamle rutere kan ha problemer med IPv6 og måtte byttes ut.
- Spørsmålet melder seg hvorfor 4, 3 milliarder IP-adresser ikke er tilstrekkelige: Det antas at om noen år vil mange flere enheter være koblet til Internett enn tilfellet er i dag. Kjøleskap, klokker og biler - alt kan kobles til Internett. Hvis du antar at hver innbygger i verden kobler flere enheter til Internett hver dag, er mulighetene for IPv4 ikke lenger tilstrekkelige.

- Konklusjon: IPv6 vil være nødvendig i løpet av få år på grunn av den økende bruken av Internett. Imidlertid har brukere ingenting å frykte og vil knapt merke endringen.
